La Rentrée Grands Formats returns from October 3 to November 13, 2025!
A must-see event in the world of jazz and improvised music, Rentrée Grands Formats is back for its 19th edition from October 3 to November 13, 2025!
The federation’s large ensembles and collectives will showcase their wildest projects in over 70 concerts across France and several other European countries.
The highlight of the Rentrée Grands Formats 2025 will take place in Tours on October 9 and 10, partnering with an emblematic jazz and improvised music venue: Le Petit Faucheux.

MEJIRO
Mejiro, named after a district in Tokyo and a small bird endemic to Japan, is a declaration of love for this country whose culture and imagination have inspired Ellinoa since childhood. Thanks to surprising instrumentation that navigates somewhere between chamber music, jazz, and song, the singer-songwriter offers a unique, unprecedented sound marked by contrasts and a fundamental ambivalence between light and shadow.

HEALING ORCHESTRA
Inspired by free jazz and great black music, the Healing Orchestra combines careful composition with free improvisation. Following in the footsteps of Charles Mingus, Sun Ra, and Nicole Mitchell, this musical forum creates engaging and jubilant music that blends tradition and experimentation, performed as a collective manifesto.

LE PETIT FAUCHEUX
Le Petit Faucheux is a SMAC (Scène de Musiques Actuelles, or contemporary music venue) specializing in jazz and improvised music based in Tours (37). With a capacity of 200 seats, its programming focuses on contemporary jazz creations while also featuring the great historical figures of this music.
Le Petit Faucheux is a space for meeting and creation.
It is a venue that champions diversity in its specialty: diversity in the aesthetics covered by this vast musical field, in the artistic disciplines programmed, in the actions carried out, in partnerships and collaborations, and consequently in the territories served, the venues invested in, and the populations involved.
Le Petit Faucheux is developing a cultural and artistic project based on three main areas.
Dissemination includes programming shows both on and off site, festivals and other highlights, and welcoming partners to Le Petit Faucheux.
Support for artists and actors includes artist residencies, rehearsals, and support for artists’ and actors’ initiatives.
Cultural action includes all activities aimed at raising awareness and developing artistic practices among the population.
