The ensemble Rumeurs directed by Tom Bourgeois will be in concert at the Jazz Station in Brussels (Belgium) on Wednesday March 22.
Attracted by both the language of modern jazz and contemporary music, saxophonist Tom Bourgeois proposes an original work at the crossroads of genres. We go from renaissance and baroque to jazz, from improvisation to chamber music, from bluesy tips (or almost) to dislocated swing. Initially in quartet, ‘Murmures’ becomes ‘Rumeurs’ in a formula extended to 11 musicians, all versatile and singular. Mystical, introspective, spiritual and then suddenly, raging and exalted, the music of Tom Bourgeois explores unexpected grounds.
