With « NoWhere But Here » – concert December 6th, at Künstlerhaus Wien – the Vienna Improvisers Orchestra ends this year’s cycle on « NowHere NoWhere I Scores In The Now », which focused entirely on the moment of creation: The VIO produces momentary compositions as dense, narrative sound events that are designed absolutely ad hoc using the practice of Instant Composition Conducting. Ensemble and conductor create at the very moment – no fixed part, no pre-arrangement, no rehearsed modules. – We burn for the moment.
The experimental short film « Sign Action Space », inspired by the VIO’s music as well as the conductor’s and the musician’s hand-movements was premiered at Künstlerhaus Wien.
