With a 45-minute momentary composition, the VIENNA IMPROVISERS ORCHESTRA (VIO) presented an exclusively and absolutely ad hoc created sound space at the legendary Moers-Festival (Germany). The visibly fascinated audience responded with minutes of standing ovations.

The album documents how, using the praxis of Instant Composition Conducting, ad hoc conductor Michael Fischer and the ensemble form a compelling course of a stringent narration in dia- and polylogical communication. In a transparent cosmos of multi-layered textures, a dynamic, lucid, inspired sound aesthetic characteristic of the VIO, captivates the audience.

The applause at the Moers Festival seemed endless.” « …until the magnificent performance by the Vienna Improvisers Orchestra, which conjured up 50 minutes of complex, exciting and highly disciplined improvisation in front of a large audience in the festival hall. It may well be that the subsequent applause, which lasted several minutes, was the longest of the festival. » (WAZ/GER)
“…the Vienna Improvisers Orchestra… (which) rightly triggered storms of enthusiasm.” (NRZ/GER)
“…with the Vienna Improvisers Orchestra on an experimental expedition into infinite worlds of sound…” (RP/GER)
