The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw (JOC) is one of Europe’s leading jazz orchestras and is considered one of the finest big bands in the Netherlands. Founded in 1996 as the New Concert Big Band, it has been the resident jazz orchestra of the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam since 1999. The JOC is renowned for its high-quality performances of both classic jazz and contemporary repertoire, frequently collaborating with world-class guest soloists such as Toots Thielemans, Chick Corea, Patti Austin, Kurt Elling, and José James.

The orchestra has won two Edison Awards and performs at prestigious festivals and venues worldwide, from Shanghai to New York. In addition to its concerts, the JOC is deeply committed to jazz education and talent development through programs like the JOC Boot Camp and the JOC Big Band Academy. The orchestra plays a key role in preserving and innovating Dutch jazz traditions, featuring top musicians and a repertoire ranging from swinging classics to modern compositions.
