Gros Caillou is a young collective set up in 2023 to organise the creation and dissemination of musical projects. Around fifteen musicians from the Nantes scene are active in the group, with a desire to promote unique, daring creations that have no apparent stylistic labels.
Gros Caillou does not seek to promote a uniform aesthetic, with each project defending its own musical concept. Nevertheless, the personalities within the collective are united around one way of making music.
Learning, sharing experiences and developing connections with other collectives and companies are also part of Gros Caillou’s mission.
Cultural action is also an important part of the collective’s remit, having already done so on a number of occasions since it was founded, including performing in schools and creating for a festival in the Bel-Air-Grand Font district of Angoulême.
The groups and musicians supported by the collective can be found at a number of venues in Nantes, including the RDV de l’Erdre, the Pannonica, alternative venues (DAHU, Docks de Chantenay, etc.) and festivals and clubs outside the region.
